Congrats to one of the greatest Devils and underrated players in NHL history.

Todd, will he be a coach or come back to the organization in some capacity?

looking at my crystal ball (the same one Todd has), he will come back to coach in 4 years as an assistant, then be fired 2 years after that.

I remember reading him talking about how much he enjoyed working with UNICEF and saying he was looking forward to spending more time doing so when he retired. Maybe a few years before he decides to take another job in hockey.

Awesome. A true devil. I love that they didn't wait around to retire it.

Time to give Brylin some props, maybe not a retired number, but I think he's the only 3 time Devils cup winner without a retired number.

I hope sooner than later, with his creativity and the offense we will have in a few years, Patty should run the PP.

I loved brylin but 308 pts in 765 games doesn't really warrant a jersey retirement.

I'd like to see them kick Deb off the broadcast and let Patty have the intermission interviews.

No jersey retirement, but maybe some kind of honor.

haha don't you think he'd be more useful behind the bench? I don't get Devil games out here, is Deb really that bad? I used to like her when I was still in NJ.

She's the worst, when you have her and MacLean talking to Stan Fischler during a game it becomes unwatchable.

Respectfully disagree. Appreciated his tenure, but no other recognition needed. He's got a life after hockey with the Devils--does that count as an honor??

The entire broadcast is awful. I wish they'd bring Loughlin in from the radio and give him a decent partner. Cangialosi is OK but he tries too hard to be like Doc. Daneyko was ok in between periods, in small doses, but I can't stand him either.

And MacLean was probably the best, but every game I wondered how on earth he accepted a job back with the Devils after his embarrassingly short stint behind the bench, and the jabs Lemaire took at him soon after replacing him. But I guess a paycheck is a paycheck.

I don't know, lots of franchises have something for people that made contributions but don't get a retired Jersey, the Giants ring of honor for example. Would be cool if the Devils had something like that. Put guys like Lou, Larry Robinson and Brylin in.

Wow, had no idea, just looked it up. Wonder what Pittsburgh broadcaster Shero wants to bring in?

Cangy is ok. The rest of the entire MSG staff is terrible, and that includes Daneyko and Deb.

I like Daneyko, he's the color guy so it's cool having someone that has the stories to tell that he does and be the "homer" on the crew.
